Here her experience:
"I had the opportunity to accomplish the ESCMID Observership in the Center for Septic Surgery, Center for Musculoskeletal Surgery, Charitè – University Medicine Berlin.
The observership included visits to the patients, consultation of the patients with infectious disease and infectious complications in the various departments of the Charité – Campus Virchow-Klinikum, including the department of intensive therapy, participation at clinical case discussions, visiting the routine microbiology laboratory and presentation of the ongoing research projects.
Particular emphasis was dedicated to discussions of different diagnostic and treatment approaches in the management of infections associated with prosthetic joints and fracture fixation devices. The program of the Observership of ESCMID gave me a unique opportunity to develop my practical knowledge in the therapy of these patients.
The friendly work atmosphere and great hospitality at the host department hugely motivated me to develop my professional interests in all areas of infectious diseases. I cordially recommend to use the opportunity to apply for an ESCMID Observership and visit one of more than 70 Collaborative Centres.
I express a great gratitude to ESCMID, tutor of Observership, Dr. Andrej Trampuz, assistant of Dr. Andrej Trampuz – Nora Renz, and all the doctors and collaborators for their help, hospitality and understanding."
