WS MAR 2016 18Prof. Dr. Zimmerli will be one of main guest speakers during the upcoming Workshop on PJI on November 24-25, 2016. He is going to give talks: 

  • "The mystic of biofilm" and
  • "The history of rifampin in device – associated infections".

Prof. Dr. Zimmerli is a well-known infectious diseases specialist with a significant, more than thirty years long working experience in the field of internal medicine and infectious diseases. Since 1979 his research focus was Pathophysiology and treatment of implant infections. A major breakthrough in the treatment of such infections was the proof of the effectiveness of Rifampicin against biofilm infections.
