Since its establishment in September 2013, PRO-IMPLANT Foundation has continuously evolved, gained international recognition and followed its mission and commitment to support international research, medical education, global networking and improved patient care.
With the support of the PRO-IMPLANT Foundation research personnel has been hired at the Charité - University Medicine Berlin to conduct laboratory and clinical studies in the field of biofilms and implant infections. During the past two years, our team has grown to more than 20 employees and educational cooperation with several international medical societies and institutions have been initiated.
Since 2014, the PRO-IMPLANT Foundation has organized several Workshops on Prosthetic Joint Infection (PJI). These workshops continuously broadened the content and number of faculty members, offering the most valuable and up-to-date information. The number of workshop participants from all over the world is steadily increasing, proving the interest and appreciation of our efforts. In 2016, five Workshops on PJI are taking place in Berlin, additional events are going to take place in Riga (Latvia), Vienna (Austria), St. Petersburg (Russia) and Cairo (Egypt).
In addition, the PRO-IMPLANT Foundation has supported young medicine students to visit Charité - University Medicine Berlin as observers and perform cutting-edge research on biofilms.
PRO-IMPLANT Foundation is tremendously honored to continue its activities with even greater enthusiasm: by organizing additional workshops on cardiovascular and neurosurgery infections; supporting innovative laboratory and clinical research for better understanding, diagnosis and treatment of biofilm infections; supporting young medical scientists and raising public awareness about prosthetic joint infections.
We are extremely grateful to all our colleagues, supporters and interested parties for helping us to achieve these goals and improve patients’ lives.
